Description: On April 17,2024 at 1456 hours a deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office working in the town of Putney was informed by dispatch of a possible intoxicated driver. When the vehicle was located, the deputy conducted a traffic stop.

Upon making contact with the operator, Linda L. Cancelliere, indicators of impairment were observed. Cancelliere was arrested and transported to Bellows Falls Police Department for processing.

At the completion of processing, Cancelliere was released on a citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Criminal Division at a later date.

Description: On April 20th, 2024, at approximately 2330 hours, a deputy with the Windham County Sheriff's Office working a Governor's Highway Safety Program funded enforcement grant stopped a vehicle on Putney Road in the Town of Brattleboro for a motor vehicle violation.

Upon making contact with the operator, Jacques L. Terrasson, indicators of impairment were observed. Standardized Field Sobriety Test's were administered, and at the completion of the test's Terrasson was arrested and transported to the Bellows Falls Police Department for processing.

At the completion of processing, Terrasson was issued a citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court - Windham Criminal Division on 04/22/2024 to answer to the aforementioned charge.

Description: During the afternoon hours of April 11th, 2024, Deputies with the Windham County Sheriff's Office began an investigation into the whereabouts of a wanted fugitive, Xavier Carter in the greater Putney, VT area. Carter had an active arrest warrant issued by the State of New Hampshire.

At approximately 1925 hours, Deputies located Carter in the parking lot of a gas station along US Rt 5 in the Town of Dummerston. Carter fled into the store and was apprehended a short while later. He was further found to be in violation of court ordered conditions in the State of Vermont.

Also located and arrested was Anne Marie Muscari, who was also found to be in violation of court ordered conditions. Both were transported to the Windham County Sheriff's Office for processing. Muscari was released with a criminal citation along with further conditions. Carter was ordered held on $20,000 cash or surety bond with further conditions. He was lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility.

Description: On 03/25/2024 at 09:59 hours the Windham County Sheriff’s Office and the Westminster Fire & Rescue, & Golden Cross Ambulance were dispatched to the intersection of School Street and Westminster Heights Road for a reported single vehicle crash with air bag deployment, fluids leaking and car into the guard rails blocking traffic.

On arrival, a 2021 Toyota Rav-4 was found with heavy damage and full airbag deployment from being struck by a pick-up truck that continued north on Westminster Heights Road.

Investigation led to the arrest of the juvenile operator of the truck. The juvenile was released on a Juvenile Citation to appear in the Windham Superior Court, Family Division at a later date.
