Description: On December 12th, 2023, deputies with the Windham County Sheriff's Office followed up on active information regarding the whereabouts of a stolen vehicle from Keene, NH. Deputies also found that Stephen R. Mecheski had active arrest warrants and was on a property associated with the investigation.

Deputies along with detectives from the Keene (NH) Police Department went to an address on Shag Bark Hill Rd. in Putney, VT. Deputies located Mecheski and he was taken into custody regarding his arrest warrants without incident. Mecheski was lodged at the Southern State Correction Facility later on.

Deputies later assisted members of the Keene Police Department with the locating of the stolen vehicle that had traveled from VT and back into the State of New Hampshire. The investigation by deputies regarding the stolen vehicle is active and charges are being sought in VT for an individual involved.
