Alert Messaging System
Please
note: This program is currently in a testing phase only
and is not yet operational.
The Alert Messaging System (AMS) is a system, designed
by Deputy Mark Anderson, that is specifically designed to
communicate information to the public. The Windham County
Sheriff's Department's dispatch center will send important
information concerning major traffic accidents, AMBER
Alerts, missing persons, road construction and other
useful information. You can have the choice of being emailed,
paged, or have a message sent to your cellular phone.
The only information you will need to provide is your First
Name, Last Name, and the email address of the device you'd
like to be contacted on. This information will be kept on
the Sheriff's Department's datebase for the AMS system.
All of your information is considered private and confidential.
Most devices, such as pagers and cell phones have an email
address attached to it
(Ex. Unicel: 8025551234@utext.com; Rinkers: 8025551234@epage.rinkers.com).
Before signing up, you might consider talking to your service
provider to enquire about possible charges. However, many
area providers allow this free of charge. There is absolutely
no fee or payment required to the Sheriff's Department for
this service. Also, you may be removed from the contact
list at any time. If you would like to start recieving these
messages, please click
